About Pieter van Gent

Pieter van GentPieter van Gent is owner and founder of Gentle Solutions. Based on his diverse experience in international Human Resource management in large corporations, he developed a special affinity with changing organizations.

After initially pursuing a career as a psychologist, Pieter started his corporate career in 1989 with ABN Bank in the bank’s prestigious management traineeship. During and after the merger with AMRO Bank, he fulfilled various HR management positions for ABN AMRO in the Netherlands and the USA.

In 1996 Pieter changed to Rabobank International as its Head of Management Development and Recruitment. After four years he served a brief period with Robeco Asset Managers as Vice President Human Resources where he supported the split-off of the Rodamco real estate funds from the company.

From 2000 through 2005 Pieter was the Group HR Director of Atradius, a company resulting from the merger of the Dutch Nederlandse Credietverzekerings Maatschappij (NCM) and the German Gerling Kreditversicherung AG. In this position he was end responsible for all worldwide HR management activities and led the complex HR processes associated with an international merger. Pieter was also member of the Management Board of Atradius Credit Insurance N.V.

Pieter graduated from Leiden University as a Clinical Psychologist. In 2000 and 2005 he attended the (Advanced) Human Resource Executive Course at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business.

Being born in the USA from Dutch – Swedish parents and raised in The Netherlands, working international is a given for Pieter. He is an active sportsman and team player, who inspires and motivates people around him.
